Driver

The Male/Female driver will be based in CapeTown around Pinelands and will be responsible for transporting goods to clients, review and verify delivery requests and invoices for accuracy. Contacting customers especially for deliveries in a respectful manner to confirm delivery details is one of the main priorities in the service industry. The Driver is required to be dedicated and have strong interpersonal and route problem-solving abilities among other requirements.

Purpose of the Job

The objective of the Driver position is to deliver product items to customers on time based on the delivery route guide.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Loading, transporting and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe and timely manner.
  • Reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicle.
  • Accepting payments for delivered items.
  • Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients.
  • Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
  • Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
  • Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.

Requirements:

  • Matric certificate or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license (Code A; A1; B and C1).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Experience may be required or preferred.
  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
  • Strong time management and customer service skills.
  • Ability to walk, drive, and lift and carry heavy items for extended periods.
